The Seasoned Life
When Ayesha Curry wanted to write her first book, a few friends in the Bay Area suggested she talk to me. We met on a rare rainy day in a Bay Area Starbucks and chatted about the basic process of writing a book, and before long, I had agreed to help guide her through the process. It was that informal.
For the project, I worked with her in person on recipes and helped manage recipe testers and recipe edits to make an extremely tight deadline (the shortest runway I’ve ever had for a book project). I also put her publisher in touch with Toni Tajima, a talented freelance cookbook designer, and brought on Sandra Wu and Melissa Brannan for recipe testing.
The book covers everything from simple things to do with kids to how to make escovitch fish, a classic Jamaican dish from her grandmother. (We included Q&As with family members, too.) The Seasoned Life Publication Date: September 20, 2016 with Little, Brown.
